H ello and welcome to the Art For Tomorrow Website. This page was created as a forum to showcase the individual and collaborative work of emerging artists, Dan Vaccaro and Philipp Kappestein.
We call our art Engaged.
Engaged Art is loosely defined as art which intentionally engages the world in which we live and the world that lives inside each of us. Our creative work serves as a tool for contemplating the social, political and personal reality of our day and as a laxative to help digest that reality. We see self-understanding as the first step toward positive personal and social transformation.
On this website you will find music, film, writing, drawing, photography and anything else that questions, challenges, invites, enlightens or celebrates humanity.
As artists, we live in a dangerous time. In a society
that stresses efficiency, productivity and capital gain, art is often
dismissed as impractical or unnecessary. In the business world, creativity
is seen as a quick-cash tool rather than a delicate process of self-exploration.
In schools, art programs are the first to get cut when budgets are tight.
This website is an attempt to stand firmly against a culture that devalues
art and a celebration of the creative process as perhaps the only thing
really worth doing.
Our newest album, Forever and a Day, came out
on December 28th. It is available in the US as well as in Europe.
